Bra is an essential item not only to support the breasts but to compliment the dress too. If you are wearing the wrong size, it is highly likely that your outfit won’t look as ravishing as it should. Not only this, you are bound to feel uncomfortable around the chest if you are wearing the right size. That’s why it is important that you know how to measure your bra size.
If your bra is right size then it should feel like your breast skin is one with the bra fabric. If you find wrinkles on the cups, then it is a bit bigger and if the breasts find a place to bulge out, it is smaller. Majority of women wear the wrong size throughout their life. The only way they know how to measure bra size is by trial. When they find the one which seems comfortable enough, they go with it.
Follow these 3 steps to know how to measure your bra size.
Often neglected but the most important thing to know the bra size is the band measurement. Put the measuring tape directly under the bust. Take the nearest whole number on the tape in inches. If the number is even (say 28) add 4 (making it count 32). If the number is odd (say 29) add 5 (making it count 34). The figure you get after addition of 4 or 5 is your band size. Remember to keep the measuring tape leveled. If possible tell someone else to do it for you.
Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your breasts. Note down the reading after rounding it to the nearest whole number.
To get the cup size, subtract the Band Size from the Bust Size. For the differences 0,1,2,3… and so on, the cup size is AA,A,B,C… and so on respectively. Look at the chart below for a better understanding.
The E cup is often referred as DD and F cup as DDD. In India, the most common cup size is B cup.
